I think I had one too many "flabongos" last night. All right, maybe two too many. But I won. If waking up with a soul-crushing hangover can be considered winning. The flabongo is, as far as I know, the creation of Scott Wootten of Shenandoah Bicycle Company. I'm sitting at the Phoenix airport drinking a tall Stella, converting the Pierre's Hole 100 highlights video. It's been a long day, one of the longest. Benmelt Swanepoel (or Melt as he likes to be called) of South Africa first appeared on the Kenda NUE Series scene at the Lumberjack 100 this past June. Since then he's raced at the Breck 100 and the High Cascades 100. Melt will be one of the fast guys tiring the line at the Pierre's Hole 100 tomorrow Saturday, August 4th in Alta, Wyoming.
